While the mutual toll rises imposed by both Malaysia and Singapore for those travelling on the Causeway is sure to frustrate the motorists bearing the brunt of the increased road charges, it is important that this does not strain relations between the two states.

The current confusion and miscommunication over the issue must be put to one side in favour of mutual dialogue. This is essential in ensuring this issue does not have the potential to steer our strong regional partnership off course.
